UGTV is Dead – Long Live LeftStickRight

LeftStickRight: Latest post

Hello and welcome to LeftStickRight.com!

After a few days of complete panic and lots of little errors, the website is up and running. This is Ian Howlett, editor of the site which is formerly UGTV.ca, and also the guy who built and brought down the site for the last 3 days. All that downtime, though. Totally worth it!

So, welcome!

This redesign has been something that’s been discussed both on the site and on the podcast for almost a year now, and what you’re seeing now is the result of finally buckling down with my team and determining exactly what would best represent what we were trying to do. It also represents a lot of new features and a continued effort to bring you more personal and unique content, alongside our reviews and news spots about games and the gaming culture.

I’m going to do a quick run down of some of the new little bits you may notice have been changed:

  • New Design! Look at all the pretty colours!
  • Comments are now threaded, you can reply to someone directly
  • Author pages are now available and will be updated to show all online gaming content for the author, add another layer of transparency
  • Twitter! Because that’s what the kids like, updates now show from our LeftStickRight account on the main pages and articles
  • Better image support – Old website didn’t have a lot of pictures because the theme didn’t handle them well, it handles them now
  • Lots of stuff for the authors of LSR, but you probably don’t care about that!

We’ll be running some contests, hopefully, to make sure we can spread the love. Podcasts will continue (hopefully tomorrow) and expect not only updated looks, but some more features to be coming out from all our authors.

Feedback is always encouraged, and you can send any feedback via the contact form on the top of the page, or directly to feedback@leftstickright.com.

Old links for UGTV.ca will still work, so you can utilize your old feeds and such if you so wish.

Hope to see you all again!
