Ian Howlett

Hello!

My name is Ian Howlett and I am the happily married founder and editor of LeftStickRight, formerly UGTV.ca. I am a full time application developer and part time gaming enthusiast. I work in the financial sector, building medium to large applications, as well as designing user experiences. And then I play video games!

I am a graduate of the University of Guelph in Computer Science and have been writing and working as a member of the enthusiast gaming press since early 2008. I am also the one responsible when the site breaks, looks funny or basically turns upside-down.

I am mostly a console gamer, having grown up on a light mixture of PC and Nintendo, I can be found sparsely online with my PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii. I own a DS, but it is sitting solemnly on my shelf along with a stack of games that get no playtime.

I (and subsequently LSR) am based out of a suburb just outside of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. I try and cover local events and developers, but if you're interested in getting in touch with me to learn a little bit more about LSR or to talk about your video game related project I am always happy to respond to emails.

Blue’s Big Break: Sonic Colors Review

Please, sit. Are you sitting? Good. Sonic Colors is a good Sonic game. Whoa, dude! Are you okay? You kind of… blacked out there. Good thing you were sitting.

Another Cast Episode 54 – You Make Me Feel Like Camping

There was this one time, at Gamercamp, when Tim showed up from New York and we all went to play a bunch of indie games and listen to developers talk about them. Fun!

Another Cast Episode 53 – Herr Hamburger

We invent another terrible character that we can blame almost completely on Ian Y. Also, we talk about scary games. Or at least games that have scared us.

Another Cast Episode 52 – Another Cast X Professor Layton

Perhaps we do not get the chance to meet up with the Professor himself, but we can explore the possibilities. Also, how about video game awards? Pretty silly.
